How it works

Health care professionals with HIV/AIDS care and treatment questions can contact Fitun Warmline by dialing 932 free of charge from any mobile phone or landline or by submitting a query on this website.

When possible, the Fitun Warmline staff answers questions immediately.

For more complex questions, our staff will conduct additional research to produce a reliable and informative answer. A Warmline staff member will then return the call within two hours. When necessary the Warmline will also supply documentation to support the answer provided.

Our staff

Fitun Warmline is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of HIV/AIDS experts, including medical doctors, nurses, lab technologists, pharmacists, counselors and psychiatrists.

The Warmline team brings together practical knowledge and experience with the latest research and technical information on care, treatment and diagnostics. Our combined knowledge and experience enables us to address even the most complex questions about HIV/AIDS.

The Fitun Warmline acknowledges the increasing demands that HIV/AIDS places on the health care systems and aims to support good-quality care by providing up-to-date information and support.

Our Goal

  • To produce rapid, evidence-based responses to a wide variety of questions on HIV/AIDS and related health topics.
  • To contribute to the quality of comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support services in Ethiopia.

Our Activities

A toll free call-in center, devoted to answering questions about HIV/AIDS from health care workers in Ethiopia.
A state-of-the-art website functioning as a complementary service to the Warmline by providing direct access to important resources and support materials for health providers; and offering a means to direct queries from health providers to the Fitun team.
Production and dissemination of informational materials such as flyers, drug information charts, frequently asked questions (FAQs), job aids.
Provision of information and support on antiretroviral (ART) logistics and supply issues.
Identification and dissemination of research, training and supply gaps in ART service delivery to inform policy and action.
